Hi I'm Lisa! Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia but currently living in Brooklyn, New York. I am extremely lucky to be able to do my job wherever I am in the world so I split my time between the two. I love to travel, beach holidays are my favourite and my idea of fun is family, friends, good music, delicious food, coffee & cocktails!
I have always been creative. My Poppy was a talented graphic artist and for as long as I can remember I wanted to follow in his footsteps. On school holidays he would take me into his office. I loved hanging out in such a creative environment with so many talented people. I can still remember the day he introduced me to one of his colleagues who was a Photographer. He showed me the darkroom and how to process film. I was so intrigued and wanted to know more.
My mum was extremely supportive and told me I could be anything I wanted to be. We always had fashion magazines on our coffee table and I was obsessed with the Photography. From a young age she would take me to art galleries, exhibitions, concerts & stage shows which enhanced my love of visual art. My mum is a singer & music was a huge part of my childhood. When I was 20 I decided I wanted to be a live music photographer. I would go out every weekend and shoot concerts and festivals. I didn't get paid, but I got free tickets and front row access to some amazing events.
Eventually friends & family were getting married and would often ask if I would take the pictures. This was out of my comfort zone but I figured it wouldn't be that different from shooting a music festival, so I gave it a go & I fell in love with it. It was similar, except I was able to interact with my subjects more and get to know them on a much deeper level. I got to capture emotion as well as all the action and tell a story through a series of images. I genuinely love what I do. I feel so lucky to meet so many amazing couples and be able to document this magical day for them. It really is like I am part of your family for the day.
My past has definitely influenced my Photography. Watching musicals & classic movies with my Nanna, my Poppy's incredible talent and artwork, my Mum taking me to events & stage shows, and my love of shooting live music - all of these things are evident in my style, which I would describe as eclectic & creative with a touch of glam and an editorial edge.
Let's get together and chat about you and your wedding day. Cant wait to meet you xxx
